Spam and misuse of our site

We have a nil tolerance towards spam. We will not tolerate our site being used for generating, or being implicated in the use of spam or any other illegal, destructive or inappropriate purpose, or for any purpose other than our intended use of the site. We will follow up any such use and take the appropriate action.

You must not use our site or our online service for any of the following:

  • Fraudulent purposes, or in connection with a criminal offence, or other unlawful activity
  • To send, use, or reuse any material that is:
    • illegal, offensive, objectionable, abusive, indecent, defamatory, obscene, menacing, in breach of copyright, trademark, confidence, privacy, or any other right injurious to third parties
    • consists of or contains software viruses, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, chain letters, mass mailings, or 'spam'
  • Harassing, causing annoyance, distress, needless anxiety, or inconvenience to any person, transmitting obscene or offensive content, or disrupting the normal flow of dialogue within our websites.

We intend to continue improving the content and function of our service. For this reason, we may monitor online traffic patterns and site usage.

We may contact you by mail, telephone, email or other electronic messaging service with details of products, services, or information related to the CLA that may be of interest to you. By providing us with your contact details you consent to being contacted by these methods for these purposes.

How we share your information

At times we will share broad trends and information with the Ministry of Education, other partners and stakeholders who work on our behalf. Your personal information, and information related to your school, will remain confidential.

How we protect your information

CORE takes appropriate precautions to protect our users' information. Your account information is located on a secured server behind a firewall. However, data transmission over the internet cannot be guaranteed as 100% secure and therefore you use the website at your own risk.

Use of cookies on our helpdesk site

In order to provide a personalised service, software known as a 'cookie' is allocated to your web browser. This software does not pass any personal information to CORE or any other organisation, and is only used to identify your browser. Password security

In some instances, you may be required to enter a username and password to access information about your account and to change your personal details. The username (also called a login ID) and password are required in order to protect your privacy and security. It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not allow your username or password to be disclosed to any other person

If you are required to have a password for use of any part of the CLA’s or CORE’s websites, we recommend you select a password that does not relate to any readily accessible data such as your name, birth date, address, etc. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the security of your login ID and password, and for all activity that occurs on or through your account. You should change your password immediately if you believe that your login ID and password have been used without authorisation. CORE shall not have any liability for your failure to comply with these obligations.


The information on our web sites have been prepared with care, and we believe that the information furnished on our site is accurate. No responsibility, however, can be accepted for any consequences arising out of the use of this material.

Force Majeure

CORE Education Ltd, its affiliates, and its information providers will not be liable or deemed to be in default for any delay or failure in performance or interruption of the delivery of our online services resulting directly or indirectly from any cause or circumstance beyond its or their reasonable control, including but not limited to failure of electronic or mechanical equipment or communication lines, telephone or other interconnect problems, computer viruses, unauthorised access, theft, operator errors, severe weather, earthquakes or natural disasters, strikes or other labour problems, wars, or governmental restrictions.


This agreement is personal to you and your rights and obligations under these terms and conditions may not be assigned, sub-licensed or otherwise transferred.


The failure or delay of CORE Education Ltd organisations to exercise or enforce any right in these terms does not waive their right to enforce that right.


Each of the provisions of these terms and conditions is severable and distinct from the others, and if at any time one or more of such provisions is or becomes invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not be affected or impaired.

Statute of limitations

Any cause of action of yours with respect to these terms and conditions must be filed in a court of competent jurisdiction in New Zealand, within one year after the cause of action has arisen, or such cause will be barred, invalid, and void.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and conditions shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, New Zealand law and any dispute arising from, or related to these terms and conditions, and their related services, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.

For the exclusive benefit of CORE Education Ltd, we retain the right to bring proceedings as to the substance of the matter in the courts of the country of your residence or, where these terms and conditions are entered into in the course of your trade or profession, the country of your principal place of business.
